About the Knoxville Chapter
The Knoxville Chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society (KTOS) was organized in 1924 to promote the enjoyment, scientific study, and conservation of birds. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month (except July and August) at 6:45 p.m. in Room 117 of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. June and September meetings are typically potluck picnics at different locations. Activities include field trips each month; spring, fall, and Christmas Bird Counts; and projects like our Sharp’s Ridge clean-up each spring and fall and the J. B. Owen Memorial Award.
