| Walnut Log Road, formerly gravel and now paved, runs 2.7 miles within the Reelfoot National Wildlife Refuge, ending at a boardwalk and observation tower out in the lake. Along this bottomland habitat, Cerulean Warbler and Swainson's Warbler spend their summers. | At the end of Walnut Log Road, a boardwalk meanders through Bald Cypress out to an elevated observation tower in the Upper Blue Basin. |

| A view out from the observation tower at the end of the boardwalk. Note the Bald Cypress in the water and the marsh vegetation in the background. | Clouds seem to float on the water during this sunset over the Upper Blue Basin of the lake. |
