NEOTROPICAL SUMMARY FALL WEDNESDAY WALKS

Spring walks were conducted at Radnor Lake State Natural Area on Wednesday mornings from 7:00-10:00 a.m. in April and May for a 4-6 week period from 1987-2005. The route taken was from the west parking lot at the Visitor Center, up Otter Creek Road to the dam and then clockwise around the lake on the Lake Trail, returning along Otter Creek Road to the parking lot, a total distance of 3.0 miles. At times, some of the ravines and ridges also were censused via the Ganier Trail. The route transverses deciduous edge, various stages of secondary growth, mature deciduous woods, and wooded lakeshore. In the spring period 2000-2005, counts were conducted on 32 Wednesdays. The walks are casual.
