The 2004 TOS Fall Meeting and Symposium was held October 8-10 at Cookeville with over 40 people in attendance. This was the first time in many years that the TOS has met in Cookeville.

Attendees gathered Friday evening for an informal reception and to sign up for field trips. The Saturday agenda consisted of morning field trips, the TOS Board of Directors meeting, and the annual symposium in which presenters from across the state describe their recent bird studies. More field trips were held Sunday morning.

Field trip destinations included Cane Creek Park, Ensor Sink Natural Area, City Lake Natural Area, Heritage Marsh, Burgess Falls State Natural Area, and Walnut Park. Winston Walden coordinated the field trips and they were led by Barbara Stedman, Doug Downs, Mike Hawkins Nancy Layzer and Winston.

Symposium: The paper session, consisting of a series of presentations describing recently completed and ongoing studies of Tennessee birds, was held Saturday afternoon. Click here for the agenda and abstracts of the presentations.

On Saturday evening, Ken Dubke presented a program titled "The Return of the Osprey to Tennessee."
