The 2002 TOS Fall Meeting and Symposium took place November 1-3
in Columbia, Tennessee. About 60 people registered for the meeting,
which was very ably hosted by the Mayfield-Gray Chapter.
Field trips on Saturday morning went to the Monsanto Ponds and
to the Williamsport Lakes and Wildlife Management Area. The Sunday
field trip went to Arrow Lake in Mt. Pleasant. Highlighs of the
field trips were a large variety of ducks, including a Surf Scoter
at Arrow Lake, Osprey and Sora at Monsanto Ponds, Forster's Tern,
Common Nighthawk, Tree Swallow, and Orange-crowned and Tennessee

The Board of Directors meeting was held late Saturday afternoon.
The BOD voted to establish a new Conservation Policy Committee.
This 6-member committee will develop policy recommendations which
will be presented to the TOS Board for approval prior to becoming
TOS policy positions. Chris Sloan was also installed as TOS Treasurer,
replacing David Trently.
